    Recession? What Recession!

The Sales Manager has just told me that last month was our best ever and so far this month we're on track for another bumper month. IT can't keep pace with the new installs and I've just employed another three field techs.

Whats going on? Is there really a recession or is it just a media driven beat up?

    How is everybody else fairing?

Mississippi is so broke to begin with we never notice a recession.

Actually it has done us some good by weeding out the weaker competition. We're not making any more per placement, but we're getting more of them. We have an opening for a tech in Louisiana.

          Slow to dead.
Done repairs are going 60 days past due.
2 corporations wanted me to pay $30.00 to do business with them.
I resent the invoice with a charge of $35.00 to do business with me and the extra $5.00 for the time I had to do their paperwork.
They are now on credit hold.
Another 30 days and I will ask for a check or I will undo the repairs and reclaim the parts.
It is getting DOG EAT DOG.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

            Amen to that brother..

For the first time in my business, I'm going to have to repo a clients copier.
I have several clients who have missed the June payment so far. Recession, oh yeah in America we are all feeling it. Maybe not so much in the UK, but it's alive and well here.

I have a much better advantage then most of the dealers out here however, I don't depend on banks or leasing companies to make sure that I can make a sale. We can do in house payments as long as they can do a 50% deposit.. now that's just about drying up as well.

There has never been any real money floating around here in West TN, but it's quickly becoming Detroit and looks like it too.

absolutly miserable here in Sarasota Fl area, no sales in 2 months, 1500 cold calls and not one proposal, service call, even cartridge order..No lease upgrades, when the old lease expires seems there running to the depot for a throw away.. Not sure how much longer we can hold on, thank God for what maint contracts are left, lost approx 60 % of our acct base that is gone and not coming back... Good Luck to all !

Australia is doing better at the moment than a lot of the rest of the world. Over here we have had stimulus packages and a current 50% tax deduction for small business purchases of depreciable assets worth over $1,000 ending at the end of the calendar year. Once the stimulus package wears off and the asset purchase deduction ends things could well get a lot worse. You can only prop up an economy with spending and incentives to spend for so long.

Unemployment is rising. As spending drops businesses will cut production and seek to cut costs.

FYI the company tax rate in Australia is 30%. So the 50% tax deduction effectively means a company's income tax payable is reduced by $150 per eligible $1000 spent.

In my territory it's just dead. Im bored as hell. Either im fixing them to good or they are just not getting run as hard.

Few months back talked to a guy up in the oil patch area in Alberta, he said machines that did 20k copies a month are doing like 5k now, big time slow down there.

Heard Pitney Bowes has let people go. Ontario will be getting it's ass kicked since all the automotive is there. Western Canada does not have any were close to the manufacturing that eastern does.

In my city the housing market is just stupid though. 60 year old house thats not worth 100k is selling for 160k. Things are listed and sold in weeks. New houses are still selling. All in a city of less than 50,000 people.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
