    Hiring Field Technicians from Overseas.

I have Been a Field Service Technician from the year of our Lord 1995 June to be exact, I got involved with Xerox and Canon at first made it a love story and branched into other brands of office machine, and I have been loving it ever since, I have gone from one technology to another and another. The problem I have is this, I am originally from the Eastern Caribbean, now living and working in the Bahamian archipelago for the past 9 of so years as a field Service Tech, this opportunity came about after someone mention to a friend of mine that they were looking for a good tech, I was recommended and viola here I am, however it is time for me to move on and broaden my skills as a field Service Tech.

When Companies hire especially from overseas, I know it is difficult to make such a decision, why? because they are not aware of there capabilities. Sure a Resume or CV says a lot, but how do perspective managers make a good choice of Technician?
The question remains is this investment going to pay off?

As Techs, my question is how do we sell our selves to the international community to let them know how to choose a good tech?
a willing tech, a tech who does not settle for failures but finds solutions?
A tech who takes his/her job seriously?
A tech who will communicate when an issue arises and needs assistance?

And yes I am also trying to sell myself here.
