Well, maybe I'm opening a can of worms here but, ...
1. I don't believe a person should lose rep just because people don't like the tagline. Many people post things I find offensive. I simply don't read it. I believe everyone will have to face God, eventually, even the terrorists. If you're a good person and have lived according to God's standards, this will be a good thing and you will have nothing to fear at all. I didn't find it offensive and I'm not a Muslim.
2. However, things that cost someone money should not be given freely. At least, not without receiving something in return. That's why it is called a trade. When trades occur they should happen in PM's, since making public information that cost money is making it free for all. If you are giving away free what others have worked hard to obtain, you deserve what you get (in this case a bad rep). Put up with it or shut up about it.
3. Who cares about the rep? Everyone. You are my peers and being judged by ones peers positively is a good thing. It means more than a review by bosses who have no clue what I do everyday. Anyone who says it doesn't matter is lying. Does that mean the world ends if I get negative rep? No, but having a good one is still better than having a bad one. (I have a rep of 26. Let's see how long that lasts now.

4. Try to be peace-makers instead of war-makers. Lord knows we have too many of the other kind in the world as it is.
