I had serviced the Bizhub 250 the day before, and I was back to service the Bizhub 600. I was sitting at a table putting feed rollers on the feed assemblies when two students {this is a barracks for a military school}, both looking to be about 18 or 19, enter and stand at the Bizhub 250. Then I hear...beep, beep beep,...beep beep beep...beep beep...beep...beep...beep beep beep...beep beep...beep beep beep beep...beep beep...well this goes on for about 2 minutes and I get up, walk over and ask "Boys. what are you trying to do?" "We need 10 copies sir" So I reach over, push the "1" and the "0" and the start button. They said thank you, and I sat back down. It was Hawaiian shirt Friday, I had a light schedule was in a good mood and said nothing. After all these young men are the protectors of my country.

This doesn't surprise me. I recently ETS'd out of the Texas National Guard. While at AT last year I was up in the TOC doin some paperwork for the medics and the girl doing personnel and other such paper work had some Lexmark desktop MFP I know she had been using for a long time. She asked me to look over it knowing I work on copiers and such. I clean the glass etc and I show them that the paper would jam if they don't tighten up the paper guides for tray 2. She didn't know the bottom tray was another paper feed tray. She had just been using it to "store paper and stuff" and had never used it."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

second charge call I ever went on was at a local air national gaurd base and the call was for a toner spill so I walked in with my vacuum and a bag full of rags only to find out that the group that was in for duty over the weekend had a jam and decided to pick the copier up (canon NP-4050) and turn it over because they couldn't find the paper. Which was in the fuser unit....I called the boss and we picked that unit up and took it back to the shop for a cleaning and gave them a hefty bill for the abuse.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Call at an Electronic Maintenance Shop on base, the call was "Changed toner in printer and it still says to change toner". The fix was for me to explain to them that it was a color printer and when it said to change the toner, they had to put in the color it was asking for, and not just change the black.The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.
