did anyone notice the other day when president bush lifted the drilling for oil offshore how a barrel of oil dropped 25 dollars instantly? right now gas is in the 3-80's and dropping. wonder how much farther the prices will drop once they actually start drilling?

I filled up for $3.72 a gallon. What was sad about the whole situation was that I thought it was a bargain.

            Screwed in NC

Before the prez's comments we were at 3.99~4.19 depending on how far out from an urban area you were. After his speech it has since dropped to about 3.70~3.85......

North Carolina is the biggest rip-off state as far as southern states go. I think the last time i checked state taxes on a gallon of fuel was around 30.2 cents per gallon. With a Fed rate of about 18.4 that comes to 48.6 cents per gallon. The fuel companies get about .08 (!!!!! that's it) on a gallon of gas. So, about 50 cents per gallon goes to state, fed, and the oil company. The station gets somewhere like .02~.04 cents per gallon. So, that leaves .48 cents going to the oil producing countries.

That's an awful lot of cash spent on what we could cleanly and easily pull out of our own oil fields. Imagine if that .48 cents went to American companies and went to our tax base. Not to mention how many jobs would be created, again putting more money into our economy....

Amazing the azzclowns in Congress can't see the easy logic.

                          Main article: Christian Communism
Christian Communism is a form of religious communism centered around Christianity. It is a theological and political theory based upon the view that the teachings of Jesus Christ urge Christians to support communism as the ideal social system. Christian communists trace the origins of their practice to teachings in the New Testament, such as this one from Acts of the Apostles at chapter 2 and verses 42, 44, and 45:

Just gassed up for $3.91 at am/pm.

It still sucks, don't let this little kiss from the oil companies forget that they are bending you over.
