    All Asian and African Techs

Many people on this forum are dismissive and rude when you ask for help.

I just want to say I admire you.

You likely work on donated machines, outdated and in need of serious repair.

You probably don't have the resources like manuals and firmware but everyday you figure out a way to get these machines running for your customers.

You might have few job options to support your families, but you were drawn to copier repair because you enjoy the challenge and are technically gifted.

As an American, my job is not glamorous but it's organized and functional.

Please don't take this as pity.

God bless and keep up the good work.

I do not agree. Lots of techs here trying to help colleagues living under less fortunate conditions.

But many people are p#ssed off when someone, regardless being a tech from the 3rd world or else, posts like this:

"My copies have black streaks. I need help"

    or

"I have a XYZ always jamming"

    or

"Send me urgently firmware (frimwar?) for the QX13"

    Or similar.

I myself however refuse to answer any post where somebody is writing in sms-texting style using reductions and shortings instead of trying at least the use of basically proper grammar.

lol he and mr rep giver had issues . but who cares about reps and stuff not me!!!

I do agree with you guys that most of the first posts made by people in the third world is just asking for a SM or a firmware for a model that they got for 1/4th the selling price from a wholesaler who dosen't know what he is selling.

I am not a tech but i do service my own machines and I help out here as and how i can . I have a wideformat Oce TDS400, Contex Scanner, Kip 3100, Kip 3000 , Xerox DC5000's ,DC5252 DC250 DC3535 etc etc and around 65 Canon b/w printers/copiers. I first started comming here cause we dont have any technical support over here ,no body to ask to when we ran into a problem. No one gives out service manuals here cause the 'tech' fears he will be outdated because of a service manual!!.
I bought few manuals from paul and rolled the ball here and i have loved it here. When i put a request for a manual here i get a P.M with the manual in it for free .I respect that and I have helped others with how i can.

I have send out few cd's of dc12 software to a guy in US cause he had quite a few posts and I never received a note saying that the cd has been received or a thank you .
People are people there will be all kinds everywhere.

I just made few rules for myself .
1)Dont respond a person who asks for something in the first 5 posts.
2)Check the persons posts if he/she has contributed to this forum in some way
3)Has the error/problem been clearly defined ,not like i have a jam 10-013 what to do or a 0103 jam etc etc

In the end i would say that a "please" and "thank you" will always be appreciated

You can't say fairer than this, manners do go a long way, I try to make it a rule to help more than to ask - I just ask that a favour is paid forward if I don't need anything in return. Everyone then builds good karma and everyone gets the help they need.

What about those hard working European techs...no sympathy for them??? I mean they have to spend $110 for a gallon of gas, or take a tram...plus the tech manuals say "Color", not colour, and man, having to convert lbs to g/sm..it's no party for them either..Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

'' Ask and you will Receive''.
'' Seek and you will Find''.
" Knock and the door will be Opened for you''. For, those who Ask Receives, those who seek finds, & the door is opened for those who knock.
These famous living words was uttered by Jesus Christ almost two thousand years ago.

_ The question is: HOW do you ask? How do you seek? and HOW do you Knock?. In other words the WAY you ask, the Manner in which you ask will make the difference in whether you will or will not get what you have asked for. And it does not matter whether you skin is white or yellow or black. It is all about ETHICS & GOOD MANNERS. It depends also on an individuals background of how one is brought up! There are some Asians and Africans who are just as ARROGANT as their European or American counterparts.

'' You will judge them by their fruits (ACTIONS), said Jesus.
