Never thought I'd see the words "happy" and "tax" used in the same sentence.

All that means is that you overpaid the government. A loan that you did not receive anything from We have to work until the middle of next month to cover the taxes we pay. Give me the fair tax and give it to me now

It's not so much that I overpaid. I also have a business that had a not so good year, that allowed extra write-offs, along with refinance and a 43% raise in property taxes and throw in that earned income credit to boot.... Even if I overpaid by $2000.00, if I had that 2K in my pocket ($38.46 each week), it would have gone towards crap anyway. Now I have some coin to pay for the airline tickets and hotel for our summer vacation. By the way, in reality, how much would that $2k have made me over the period of 1 year, $38.46 each week? Anyone have the numbers? Putting $100 per week into a credit union account only earned me about $24 over the year in interest. And then I had to use that as income and pay taxes on it.
