Lucky for us, a lot of customers here renew their machines after the contract is up, leaving us with a lot of 2nd hand machines in good working order. Some we end up never reusing due to the mileage. We may reuse one or two older one for short term rentals, but never releasing them. For some we keep in working order for testing purposes, or to rob parts from for other machines. That fan that sits underneath the MFP board in the C280s, I've used in a couple of different spots, because the fans are mostly the same. And to double check, I use the parts manuals.

One other thing the SM's are good for is for disassembly procedures. I had to replace the Transfer cleaning motor in a C452 once. Wow...

Let me know if I can help -- this idea sounds promising.

I agree. We've got a spreadsheet here detailing our common models part yield (ie Drums, Dev units, Fusers, Transfer Belts, Rollers, etc)

          Re help: Yer for sure...
I dragged the main codeware off the backburner last night and loaded it on the harddrive, but that is as far as I got.

Me knowing myself, the best way to help me is to annouy the crap out of me every day so I feel bad, an eventually I may get it done.

              Thanks for the URL Paul.
I'm not a 100% certain but, I believe the Techs here are looking for another complete level/layer of parts information below the machine cross-reference the Katun site is showing.

Example Ricoh model machines can reuse old out dated 8 year old parts designs in some of the new latest release machines. Only a Tech would know this as he/she visually recognises that the two parts look the same. The two parts have different part numbers. Most Tech's I'm sure would like to have a cross-reference database that identifies these two part numbers at the click of a button. If I get my system working correctly, I would like to incorporate part size and physical dimensions that can be checked for physcial symmetry with it's cross-reference identical part.
Obviously if two parts are not the same there won't be any cross reference to search.

Hey, I resent that. I play lots of computer games. But I don't think I've watched a solid hour of TV since the ODI between Aus and Eng a week or so back. Oh, and I watched about 10 minutes of Curling in Sochi...

And While most people seem to be picking up e-readers etc, I need to feel the paper in my hands. Can't read anything properly otherwise, unless it's truly riveting.

                        Need a Manual.JPG

I wish I could remember who made this for me. I found it on my hard drive around 3AM this morning. But whoever did. Thank you. I love it. I 'think' maybe it was Mr. Who. He did some animation work for me on my logo.
