Bizhub 4050 error message "install the imagine unit. 031.66"

Hi

We have a Konica Minolta Bizhub 4050 that works and then stops indicating error message "Install the Imaging Unit. 031.66". After opening the front door and removing the jammed paper, the machine works for a while then gives the same error message.


The Imaging Unit was replaced with a new one and firmware was updated.
The contact point for the IU was checked and found to be OK.


What could cause this error?

the drum unit could be backing off the contacts... inspect drums/front door... can you stick a chunk of foam between cover and PCU to keep it in place?

are you an end user or tech? if end user, you might want to have a tech look at it ... there might be a service bulletin on the problem.
