Interesting community! I bought a used 220 and think it's the cat's meow except it prints so light. It's got 370,000 copies on it according to the counter. Tried new toner cartridge; no help - but setting the darkness all the way up does help. I'd probably be happy if i could set the default to "darkest possible" but it keeps reverting to Auto Image Density. I have a hunch from reading the manuals that this can be done deeper in the user settings than i've figured out how to get. how can i break into the robot code and set the darkness all the way up permanently? or alternatively, since i'm not a copier guru, does it need a new drum or something?
