Hi All ... I'm Paul, have had several xerox machines over the last 7 years.
DC3535
DC1250
DC5065 (maybe a 250 in other parts of the world)
DC5065II
I am purely from a user point of view in a commercial printing business.
In 2004 we purchased our first Xerox the DC3535 and wow, what a big waste of funds this was.
Sold as a entry level commercial printing machine with 1 major flaw, it cannot print dark blue (reflex blue). This machine prints blues as a purple / grape colour and when 60% of your print jobs contain dark blue colours 60% of your work comes back.
Over a 4 year period, Xerox replaced the machine with a brand new DC3535, had sooooooo many technicians from all over the country come to our office and rip this thing apart.
End result was that the machine was downgraded to a office machine and no longer supported. Hence why Xerox gave us a DC1250 free of charge - that sat along side the DC3535 for nearly 2 years.
The DC1250 was great.
We upgraded in 2008 to a DC5065 and in 2009 to a DC5065II. We signed a maintenance agreement on the DC5065II which lasted approximately 3 months.
Xerox refused to service or supply goods to the machine as we did not meet the monthly quota of 50,000 copies per month, we only printed an avg of 35,000 per month.
The fees Xerox charge are far too expansive for us and we have to rely upon technicians from outside sources - copier repair centres, etc and of course lots of reading.
I find that many techs are fantastic, but they just don't have that Xerox laptop that allows them to network with other technicians or easily diagnose a problem.
It's great to meet you guys and look forward to having a chat sometime.
