Re: Oldest machine you ever worked on
Been so long, I don't remember the model #.
Does liquid or thermal transfer count?
30 years and loved almost every minute of it.Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?Comment

Re: Oldest machine you ever worked on
I was hired by Xerox in 1973 and worked in one of their refurb factories. I rebuilt the 914s, 720s, 660s, dups (2400, 3600 and 7000). So the 914 must have been the oldest. It was great training because back then Xerox hired lots of Vietnam vets with electronic backgrounds.Comment

I started out in 1972 working on Olivetti Copia II and III and Coinfax; Apeco SuperStats, SuperStat2s (usually refered to as Super Deuce), and RolloMatics; SCM 33s,44s, 55s, and 110; Saxon (can't remember the model numbers); and Old Town 32s.Comment

Re: Oldest machine you ever worked on
Currently I still have a Mita DC 111 at a TV repair shop. it needs its feed rollers cleaned and optics too. the Mita 900D, 800 and sharp 726 toaster were some of the oldest, along with a minolta EG101 that was 10 feet from tha ocean in Hawaii where I started on copiers in 1981. I found my new grove a couple of years ago and got My Pilots certifcate on Sept 5 2012. So now, will fix copiers for AVgas.Comment

Re: Oldest machine you ever worked on
Xerox 914 and 813 in 1970 when I hired on to Xerox as a Tech Rep. Those were the good old days, no electronics to deal with. Then we at Xerox invented the computer with the Alto in PARC in the Bay area, windows desktop, Ethernet for networking, mouse and keyboard, and touch screen . This screwed up the world as now everyone relies on this junk for smartphones, p.c.,s , laptops, the internet, and all the stuff we live with today.Comment
