Copier shipping companies - trucking companies?

I'm curious what trucking companies you guys use for shipping copiers? For a while I was using MOE (Move Office Equipment). They were great for a while. They handled the copiers with kid gloves and had low prices. But they've become, let's just say, unresponsive and difficult to set up a shipment. I can't have that.

I recently tried TTR Shipping but I sold a copier and it was shipped to Minnesota and arrived heavily damaged. Their prices are also on the high side.

I was given the name of another company that I'm about to try. The company is Copier Logistics. Anyone ever used them and what shipping company do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Our company has used Wulff out of Ohio. Not sure on pricing, they usually pick up our lease returns.

I'd like to know as well. Somebody who doesn't insist on cranking down a single strap to the point of destroying the doors and hinges.

Get to know some of your local delivery services. They might be able to recommend a good long haul company or two.

One month later and my copiers just arrived. To be fair, they said one of their drivers had a stroke last week and it delayed the shipment. Other than that, I have no complaints. The machines arrived without a scratch on them. They were shipped with care - shrink wrapped and moving blankets. Communication was very good.

Will use again.

We use Impact Technologies or TTR. Mostly it depends on the driver, some seem to be in a lot more of a hurry (TTR). Impact we always have the same driver so it works out great. Used Copier Wholesaler | Impact Technology

I just got another shipment of copiers and again they were shipped by Copier Logistics. All the copiers arrived without a scratch. Highly recommend.

I'll add my two cents since I used to use most of these companies in years past:

TTR Shipping: I'd avoid them like the plague. It was their first and last shipment with us and they completely destroyed the machine. The driver was in a hurry but I made him wait about half an hour while I tried to document all the visible damages on the bill of lading. I sent photos of all the damages to their President/owner and we corresponded and in the end they denied the claim; asserting that there was some "deductible." I contacted the CC company and my bank did a chargeback on their fee to destroy and ship my machine. I also found out later that they steal boxed supplies and hock them on their ebay storefront. A shipper does not get entitlement to surplus supplies...


R&L Carriers (may have also been called/affiliated with Gator Trucking in our area): I've never used them for copiers or heavy single pieces of equipment but I did use them for transporting pallets of printers. They were great to work with for that type of work and very affordable at the time. I vaguely recall them being a bit easier to get quotes and didn't have to worry about that shipping class horseshit that trucking companies usually want you to figure out based on a bunch of bullshit algebra and molecular densities of whatever the fuck you are shipping.


Copier Logistics Specialists: These guys actually started off pretty good. They are mostly a broker compared to the above two and I had great luck when they contracted out to North American Van Lines for my area. Unfortunately, we had a problem with them. An office building was closing and they were to pick up some digital duplicators (think riso, standard, lanier, ricoh, etc.) WITH several color drum cylinders. The color cylinders are probably worth more than the machine themselves. Well they picked up the duplicator but did NOT pick up the color cylinders. I told them about it, no refund, no claim, no offer to go back and pick them up - if they could even get in the building anymore. So I told them I'd pay their invoice when they complete their service and furnish the rest of the pickup...which never happened. I think years later someone in the office put a quote request through to them and they came back asking for our past due invoice. I laughed and said again, you provide the missing color cylinders and I'll pay your invoice. That was the end of that.


There was another company I can't recall the name of that we used for heavy production stuff and it was mostly ok except they would always bend the panels probably from the ratchets. I'll admit, when I did my own pickups, sometimes I'd ratchet the damn thing too tight as well. I can't help but feel that the only way to properly ship a machine is to palletize the pieces and enclose them good, otherwise stuff gets missing and goes arye.

So in short, I can't really recommend any of the shipping companies, and even if I did, it really does depend on your region and the drivers in that area. What may be good for me might be bad for you. It's like UPS and Fedex, where I used to live the Fedex lady was so nice and careful with my packages and the UPS assholes would throw packages on the porch...fast forward to where I live now and the UPS driver is meh, ok and the Fedex drivers is a fucking douchebag and my god I hope he gets testicular cancer. That motherfucker will have a package that requires a signature, but not knock on the door, and simply put a not home door tag on the door and drive away and then I have to drive to the facility to get it. I watched him do it the one time through the window, just walks up to the door and slams a sticker on it. Prick!

Use them all the time as we are based in Ohio. I have used Copier Logistic in the past without issues. I have also used SAIA but they are a bit on the pricey side.

We have used Wullf for years and never had any problems. We mostly send lease end machines back with them but we buy used equipemnt from them sometimes. Most of the transport is within Ohio.

They also run to the West coast once a week, Wednesdays I believe.
