Xerox / Lexmark / Lexmark rebox

Curious what the general consensus is regarding Xerox purchasing Lexmark?

More specifically, any Sharp dealers, what is your comfort level in selling the reboxed Lexmark units?

    TIA

Lexmark is garbage, my trainer thinks it's garbage, my rep thinks it's garbage, every technician I've asked thinks it's garbage.
We don't sell them anymore and we try to replace the one in the field ASAP with real Sharp A4 or Epson EM-C800

Xerox has had the habit of making poor decisions. I cant see them redoing the Lexmark production since they still have ties with Fuji. I don't think they have the capability of thinking out of the box. My Personal opinion as I unloaded my Xerox Shares in the early 2000.

been a lexmark tech for almost 10 years. all brands have their pros and cons. we also sell ricoh, brother, and HP. in my opinion, the lexmarks are the better of the 4 brands. i have also trained on kyocera. lexmark is still better. have not worked on xerox, nor sharp, so i can't comment on those in comparison.

Why all 4 ? Is Ricoh and Brother or Lexmark not enough ?
Why would you put Lexmark above ?

why would i put lexmark above the others? it is easier to operate and to work on them. ricoh is trying to come around to being more like lexmark maintenance. but ricoh wants you to generally rebuild things, such as drums and fusers. but no customer wants you to stay on site for a hour working on a rebuild. and since it is not possible to keep every single part for every ricoh. lexmark generally requires you to switch out the drum, fuser, or whatever. and you are usually done withing just a few minutes. as i stated, all brands have their pros and cons. of course i am sure part of it is how much experience you have with one brand. i know canon makes it a pain to get any documentation on any of their stuff. unless of course you are a certified canon tech.
