    Sevice Cost per Copy calculator

Just wondering if any of you have found a service CPC calculator you like for analyzing new models. I just started working on an excel spreadsheet that would brake this all down but if I don't have to reinvent that would save me a ton of time.

    Thanks All

I know Sharp & Kyocera both have them available for their own models on the service sites.
    Hope that helps !

Most vendors have a print tracking plugins or software that would break down meter copy clicks.

What model are you working on?

Hey Guys thanks for the replies. I'm trying to build or look for an excel spreadsheet that will give me true cpc based on data like volume, Mean copies between calls etc. I can download the spec sheets from Kyocera but they are very brief, with only supplying the cpc for toner and PM kits but they don't give there test results for break down analysis. Any thoughts?

        Thanks again.

You might have to reinvent the wheel on this one. Some manufactures have Total cost calculators that are really nice using PM costs and such but it is very specific to their machines. Most peolple would feel uncomfortable sharing this data

I appreciate your honesty. I thought that however there's no harm in asking.

            Thanks

Working out cpc can be a very laborious process.
There is free and difficult, or costly and easy.

I know that BEI do an excellent cpc analysis but it will cost you. They will break it down to the tech, machine, MIF or whatever else you would like. I have dealt with them before and found them to be very good.

If you do it yourself, you will get a much better understanding of how you can effect it, in my opinion.

              For technician cost per copy, you will need to get;
              1. copies between calls data.
              2. parts usage.
              3. established labour cost per call.

The labour cost is something you will need to work out based on staffing, wages, taxes, fuel, insurance, tools, phone, internet and anything else that the company uses to place that call.
Where I have worked in the past I have used AUD$70 per call for this figure.

For MIF cpc (or model cpc) the information is similar.
              Total consumables for the MIF/model
Total service calls (calculated as above I use AUD$70)
              Total parts.

Add these three together and divide it by,
How many copies that MIF or model has completed in the period.

I have always found that manufacturers will work the cpc based on best case scenarios.
This should be a guide only and you should work out your true cpc on real data (the above part may only last 30K in reality), not forecasted data.

I have worked for dealers and direct, with Xerox, Ricoh, Panasonic, Kyocera, Canon and Lexmark. They all do the cpc calculators in virtually the same way.
