i've been wondering just how many out there are billing customers for scans as well as copies? to me, by not doing so, is a just lost revenue. currently the company i work for bills per click on copies. in the long run, ya have customers that scan to e-mail, pc, fax, ect.. and it wears out rollers and components.. all without ever " paying " for the usage of it.. my question is-- At what rate do you bill for your scans? thank you for your time..
Billing For Scans

I don't charge for scanning. I add cost of overall usage based on number of copies. My charge for scans is already built in.
I have a base rate per click. If there is a print board I include more per click. I add more per click based on installed components and network support, not how many were scanned.
I beat dealer prices by keeping it simple.
Application solutions are allways billable. Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?Comment

When scans exceed 30% of copy/print volume, we bill any scans over the 30% at the regular click rate.
For example, if user does 50k scans and 100k copies/prints they are billed for 120k clicks. It's simple and easy to calculate.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We stipulate that we can bill any scans greater than the number of prints at a rate of $.002. We have yet to apply this policy. We have a mininum monthly charge of $30 on monthly CPP plans which covers us on users who do a lot of scanning but little printing. We actually had a user who only used their color copier for scanning and we were profitable with the $30 monthly mininum charge ($360 annually).Come on Fulham!Comment
