Postscript is an OPTIONAL add on for ricoh products!!! YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!!....unless you can find a ghostscript PCL emulator/ filter!!! Good Luck!!!
Just fyi, I installed Linux Mint on my laptop years ago, and it automatically recognized the Ricoh on the network and prompted a download of the driver PPD files. Worked great. What happens when you try to manually "add printer" in Ubuntu?
Whoops, thread from April. I'm sure he has figured it out by now. I might add that I just converted one of my home pc's from win 7 to Mint, and I am quite pleased with the results. Linux distros work great with old computers and printers.
