    IPP printing from internet

    Hello there, guys and gals!

What do you think would be the minimum internet connection speed (from a client point of view) to use IPP to print from home to a business server?

Of course dial-up is out of the question, but you think someone with a (basic for today's standards) 1Mb ADSL or Cable connection could print from home?

(Of course I know the waiting time would vary according to the printjob size and attributes - grayscale, color, etc -, I'm talking about general use, not mentioning anything specific).

I think I'd set any available timeouts WAY HIGH to provide for "pokey packets."

It should work fine for general usage and is freaquently used to submit jobs to print shops when the user has an account, so you don't really need to be concerned with a broadband (non-dialup) account.

As the previous person stated, it would not be a bad idea to jump the network timeout up to 3 minutes if you have that setting.
