Recently I have been playing around with the HID card readers that you can install on to the new Konica Minolta machines with a lot of success. Now I want to try and get a Mag Strip Reader to work with one.
With the HID cards, you could purchase the reader through Konica Minolta and then download the device driver that had to be installed on the copier and everything just worked. My problem is that there is no Mag Strip Reader driver available from Konica Minolta to load onto the machines and KM AUS don't know if they are going to go ahead with this as yet.
I am hoping that something similar has already been done in other countries and that there is something that will make the machine support the Mag Strip Reader.
The Mag Strip Reader is an RF IDeas USB reader and does kind of work with the machine (I believe the machine just sees the reader as an external keyboard or similar and will type the text from the card that has been read) but it doesn't intergrate in to the User Authentication / Account Track at all.
If anyone has any experience with this or knows how to overcome the situation, then you help would be greatly appreciated.
