Canon ir c2620 driver issue

Canon PS3 4.7 driver installs fine but test pages or printing from any application doesn't work. No error messages or anything, just a silent non responsive printer. I'm Running an IR-C2620 canon.
It is networked using the same TCP/IP settings as old drivers, but it just won't talk with the printer.
The old V.1 Post Script driver works, albeit with tray assignment issues, as does the PCL driver, but not the 'latest' PS version (PS3 4.7) File reference: o1114enx_w_ps480_x32 as found on Canon's web site.
I want to use the latest PS driver, as PCL gives poor colour reproduction and the old PS.1 driver won't hold drawer assignment settings.

I'm running Windows 7 32bit.

1st off, does the copier have PS kit on it?

Yeah I gathered it stood for Post Script. :-) Is it software loaded into the rip?
My answer to your question would be I don't actually know, how could I find this out?

It is a kit installed on the copier. If it is not installed it will not print ps.... Do counter check/device info and it will show all kits installed.

Does it have a Fiery Print Controller?

The Imagepass C1 Fiery does not have a PS driver for Win7. This is an old fiery and copier.

Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : imagePASS-C1

There was a similar Fiery made called a C2, it does have Vista driver PS listed. It may work.

Oooh thank you, will give it a try. seems the Canon link won't let me access the driver at present though.

YAY! All sorted now. Downloaded the XP PS Driver and it works just brill. Accurate colour matching and no drawer assignment issues.

P.S. Would really like to know how to stop the pop up which notifies me that my job has printed though. Quite irritating.

Oh yes and finally, What is the print tray alignment setting for, is it supposed to centralise my artwork on the page? It doesn't seem to make much difference.

Got the pop up sorted, it was a mattter od adjusting the preferences in the job monitor software which was automatically installed.
Still interested in the tray alignment answer though.
