Toshiba Estudio 3511 network card not connecting

I have been having a problem connecting to our network through the LAN adapter. It has been acting up for a while (not connecting and stalled at network initializing) and turning the copier off and disconnecting the network cable from the machine and the wall worked to reset. The connectivity lights (green) are not lighting now and it just sits on network initializing. I've got a feeling that I need to replace the LAN adapter but can't find the part number. Any idea? Part number? thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. It's been fine for the past year and just started to act intermitent so I don't think it's the hdd. I got away a few times with turning off the copier and then restarting but the lights have stopped working on the LAN unit. Replacing is the probably the best way to go and just need the part number.
Now, if you have a different direction I should take then please advise. Again, thanks!

Lan connector is part of the system board and not available as a seperate item as far as I'm aware

Understood on it being part of one unit. It connects to the motherboard as a separate unit just like your computer modem. I've got it in my hands.

Re: Toshiba Estudio 3511 network card not connecting

We have had a few issues with NIC's from that series of machine and there is a couple of things that you can try.

                      1. 08-693, 08-1119 - Run both of these which will reset your NIC. Chances are that you will have to do the following one as well.
                      2. Remove the NIC from the machine and locate a jumper marked OP2. Change the jumper position and reinstall in the machine. Turn the machine on and wait for the NIC to start flashing between orange and green. This normally takes about 3-6 minutes to start happening. Now turn the machine off and reset the position of OP2.

Both of the above are NIC reset proceedures so you will need to re-setup the NIC settings on the machine. When doing the second one, make sure that you only move OP2 as changing other jumpers could cause some even more serious issues.

If all that fails, then go ahead and change out the NIC as just like a couple of others stated, the NIC is a separate board that attached directly to the e-Bridge board.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Can anyone help me? I haev the exact Same issue.

                        1. Network light always on with or without a cable plugged in.
                        2. Performed 08-693 and 1119
                        3. Reset Jumper OP2 reinstalled rebooted waited about 10 minutes lots of network card flashing etc
                        4. Shutdown replace pin to original position and reboot.

After it rebooted the network card worked again. I was able to access the network admin and still file share did not work.

FYI, every once in a while it would work like this just the same. After just one reboot its again back to the same thing.

NETWORK INITIALIZING... and again I am unable to connect to it or reset the network without rebooting.

I have looked everywhere for firmware and for buying a new card with now luck

                        Please help

                        Thank you!

These machines and NICs are becoming extremely rare as they are so old.

You might want to post a thread in the Spare Parts forum and see if any one is wrecking a machine with a compatible NIC. Just remember though that chances are that another NIC will end up sharing the same fate as your current one, so if it were me, I would be looking to get another machine.

Thank you very much for the response!

I read a post from another user and I actually set the ip static and sure enough the damn thing works fine. I have repeatedly rebooted and its working great. A few issues with file sharing to my MAC but other than that at least its consistently working now!

                            Thanks again!

With your file sharing to a Mac, you can scan directly to the HDD of the machine and then retrieve the file from your Mac by using the "Connect to Server" function.

Once there, use the following to access the machines HDD:

                              smb://<ipaddressofcopier>/file_share

When scanning from the machine, use Scan to File and ensure that MFP Local is selected so that the scan goes to the HDD.
