    Samssung 3870

I have a Samsung 3870 that when first turned on, or if machine is not activated for a long period, it will print heavy background and repeat images. After it makes several copies (15 to 20) the background clears up but light repeat images are still there. Machine only has 8000 copies. The machine worked fine until a few weeks ago. The fuser is fine. I have tried several new cartridges in this machine and they do the same thing. I do use generic cartridges but have 11 more of these machines out there using the same cartridges with no issues. Any help in trouble shooting this problem would be appreciate.

It looks like a Lexmark rebadge. The only thing that makes sense is drum cleaning. Is this an AIO cartridge? What interval does the image repeat (probably heavier fill areas, probably ~96mm intervals, were I to make some guesses)?

What media type are you using? Generic toner can cause poor fusing issues also. I think I'd get a genuine Samsung cartridge and see how it does.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
