Re: How to Set up E-mail on Canon IR 4570????

Email Send Function Fails Even though the Email Settings Seem Correctly Configured

      Problem :
The email send function fails even though the Email Settings on the copier are correctly configured according to the Network Administrator. The correct Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for their email server has been typed in for the SMTP Server setting. The Administrator can Ping this email server by its FQDN and by its IP address from any of his computers.

      Solution :
The problem here is most likely that the imageRUNNER cannot resolve the email server's FQDN into its valid IP address. The computers on the network can Ping the email server by its FQDN because they can resolve the FQDN to the server's IP address. The computers are either configured to use a DNS server or may have a mapping for the email server configured in their local HOSTS file. The copier does not have a HOSTS file to edit on it. The copier will need to be configured with the IP address of the network's DNS server. If a DNS server is not available, the SMTP Server setting on the copier can be set as the IP address of the email server instead of its FQDN. This will eliminate the need to resolve the name (as the IP address will be known by the copier).
Also make sure that the domain name for the domain the SMTP server serves is set in the DNS settings under Domain Name. If the Domain Name is incorrect, the most common error code in the Send job log will be #752. The domain name must match your customer's email FQDN. For example, if your customer receives email at 'jsmith@xyzcorp.com' the FQDN is 'xyzcorp.com'. If the imageRUNNER is connected to an external Fiery controller the Domain Name must be set on the external controller.

With some email servers if the Subject field for document being sent via e-mail is left blank, the transmission of the e-mail may fail. Populate the Subject field by accessing the System Settings > Communications Settings > E-mail / I-Fax Settings

i understand information but little bit confused....

actually my ISP given static Ip address. i applied static ip address in my D-Link Wifi Router. i connect all systems and MY canon Copier with Wifi router using Dynamic Ip address.

all systems network sharing and Printing & scanning With Canon Copier is works Good. but unable send emails through copier .

I want set up email in Canon Copier so easy to scan and send emails with my canon copier.

i tried so many times for setting email on canon copier using all the web information and youtube videos.. but no luck.
again i changed machine copier ip address and resetting email set up. in web RUI settings also. but nothing happend.

if any thing i configure in my gmail account. or any thing i messed......

                  How To Enable Gmail POP3?

The first step to access Gmail mails in POP3 clients is to enable POP3 in Gmail. To do so,
                  • Sign in to your Gmail account.
                  • Click Settings at the top of your Gmail account
                  • Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
                  • In the POP Download section, select Enable POP for all mails to download all Gmail mails, including those that have already been received into your Gmail mail account. To forward only those mails that arrive from now on (i.e. mails that arrive since the Gmail POP3 is enabled) to your POP mail account, select Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
                  • When Gmail mails are accessed with POP, choose either to keep Gmails’s copy in the Inbox or to delete them them.
                  • Click Save Changes

Once you’ve enabled POP in Gmail, you can configure Gmail POP3 settings on your mail clients like Hotmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, or wireless device like iPhone, to download your Gmail messages.Find out how to configure and read in Hotmail, Gmail mails. Enjoy Gmail POP3 access.

Did you change the TX port in service mode to 465?
You have to power the copier off & on at the main switch to save the settings

Under service level 2 >Body > Option -SMTPXPN change to 465

You have to power the copier off & on at the main switch to save the settings

Under service level 2 >Body > Option -SMTPXPN change to 465
