Stay away ! The c3200 is far better then the 3100, also the 6800 is bad,3100 has a single drum with a carousal that spins the dv units, it is a nightmare machine in my opinion

These machines were Canon entry into the BWSC (Black and White, Some Colour) market but because the people who uses these piles of crap see colour and use colour all the time, the machine is prone to all sorts of problems.

Canon designed these to operate at a rate of 1 in 8 pages colour, and even then the colour shouldn't cover no more than half the page at most.

Our company are forever changing the drum, drum cleaning blade, transfer sheets, feed and sep rollers as well as doing a mod to the right hand door as this causes feed jams. Also ensure that the machine is set to black and white as a default on the user copy screen and in the print default settings. We also find that the machine likes to chuck toner all over the place, the waste toner bottle isn't that good at collecting waste toner, and the customers are forever misalining the toners when they replace them, causing more calls than are nessercery.*@!!?$!@@##

My best advice would be to dump these things as fast as possible and 'upgrade' to the iRC2880/3080 range of machines.

Man that's not even a fraction of the issues...
What about toner feed clutches causing devs to overtone making the devs seize and breaking gears...
Drum drive motors squealing like a stabbed pig.....
ATR and drum patch sensors getting covered in toner from siad overtoning and causing E020 errors by the bucketload....
I could go on and on....
