    [Jamming] IR C3380 auto pickup

    Dear all,
Recently faced with 2 machines with similar issues. Canon iRC 3380 and 3080.
Everytime when the machine is restarted or wakes up from sleep modes (during warming up),
the tray will pick up 1 pc of paper (a4 or a3) and jams the machines, even when there is no print or copy job.
For a temporary measure, i have removed the paper from the trays and the machines works now.
May I know if any of you guys faces the same issues or any idea on how to resolve this issue?
It happens on Tray 1 and tray 3 on 2 different machines.

Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you soon.

    Regards,

Machine would feed a sheet of paper from a tray , whenever the machine was powered on

Try swapping the paper feed assemblies to tray 2 > see if the problem follows the paper feed assembly's.

If it follows assembly> check that the foam bumper on the paper feed solenoid of the paper feed assembly is not sticky.
This will cause the solenoid to remain actuated, and pick up roller will turn when the machine is powered on.

The paper inside the cassette is held up by the lifter plate. When pickup takes place, the pickup roller moves down to come into contact with the surface of paper.
The pickup roller is moved down when the pickup solenoid goes on.

Remove the bumper and clean the glue with alcohol the problem should be resolved.
Below is a picture of the solenoid removed the paper feed unit with an arrow pointing to the foam bumper.
