    [hot]Canon IR Series guru needed

Hi all guys, im writing from Italy so, plz, sorry in advance for my english

i've got a very big (and stupid) problem to solve but i've got no time, so i need some genius bring me some help... i'm in risk to loose a large ammount of *money* so i really hope someone can reply

im talking about IR 2018 canon copier. official canon spec says:

    copy resolution: 1200x1200 dpi

    scanning resolution: 600dpi

1200dpi in copy mode and 600 in scanner mode? how is possible with same hardware?

I NEED to know if ir2018 can do 1200dpi in scanner mode (even in driver/software mode). and if not, why the same hardware output different resolutions in differend operating modes?

if 2018 can't do 1200dpi in scanner mode my customer wont accept the sale and i'll loose something like 30 pcs of 2018...

    thank u all

the simple answer is no...check out the specs: http://www.usa.canon.com/cpr/pdf/Bro...ev_0220008.pdf

it does not really print in 1200dpi either, it is enhanced.

          thanks for reply but

we've already check canon pdf's and yes, we already know 1200dpi is an enhanced mode.question was: if the 2018 can enhance in copy mode; there's a way to do some enhanced scan in scanner mode too?

for example... Canon's MF 6530 got same 600x600dpi optical scanner; but can do enhanced mode (up to 9600x9600dpi) in copy or in scanner mode as well, via "scangear" software....

          any further help appreciated

then just download the scangear software and see if iyour 2018 will go 1200dpi....since I dont have a 2018 it is a moot point for me..

Like we tell customers all day every day....if you want to try something out of spec then go ahead and try...if it works...BONUS...if not...then you've been told that it's outside of normal specification.
