Ok. I have alot of these in the field. But have something on a new/used install i have never seen. she comes in to alot of emails printed in the output tray. today there were 73 of them....I am attaching one of the pages. I had them turn off pop 3 receive and clear the smtp server field over the phone but it is still doing it. It does have e-copy sharescan on it. never had that....maybe it is coming from there....they are not using the email function...maybe just clear the DNS servers out???

hi copicatt, I had this problem before with one of our clients, she keeps saying they're receiving emails from unknown address.
liased with their IT while troubleshooting. we found out, somebody has included their email on a spam bot net, something called email spoofing that is why
it is returning email back to them. on how he solved it, i'm not really sure. but hope I have given you some idea.

      Re: iR3245

Thanks for the reply. I had her to clear all DNS server info from the copier, thinking this would unlink from the internet. Well, today she came in and had an output tray full of emails!! My Goodness. I'm kindly lost. I'm figuring has something to do with the "ecopy" sharescan that is installed on the copier. Does anyone know how to uninstall it????? Is it stored on the HDD? if so, I can swap that.......Any more ideas?

It only has the ip address, subnet, and gateway in the copier to be able to print. How can it receive emails with POP off, email receive off, and no DNS servers input. Is this info possibly input into the Ecopy system separately on the machine where it also needs to be removed?? I'm not familiar at all with that program, have lots of these in in the field though.........
