    [Misc] Canon iR5000

    Hello friends:

I have a question. Does the Canon iR5000 allow network downloading (TCP/IP) capability?

    Regards.

The Canon iR5000 does not support downloading from the network, only from the parralel printer port.

What do you mean by "network downloading"?

Are you attempting to upgrade the firmware?
Are you attempting to make the machine a network printer?
Are you attempting to scan to a network folder or e-mail?

If the machine is still working i think you can just put it on fix ip using 17 and power on and now you can update the firm ware using network.

upgrading the IR-5000 with the network cable was not very reliable, the recommended method was using a parallel cable or the USB to Parallel cable that Canon sold back in the day. If you are not having an issue or replacing the HDD I would not mess with it.
