    Canon iRA C5235A - E540-8002

    Hi,

This Canon iRA C5235A had the error E540-8002 intermittently and now it's consistent.
Took finisher apart, checked and cleaned sensors, re-seated the connectors on the Finisher PCB, inspected the tray 1 motor, etc.
The Finisher Tray 1 moves up and down normally during the machine start up and then errors so I am thinking of replacing the Finisher PCB but i go by the axiom "it's never the board"....

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks in advance!

I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.

Code Occurs on the Staple Finisher-C1
The E540 code is for the M107 motor problem but re wrapping the springs for this sensor can also cure it.

In this case, an addition wrap on the paper surface sensor PI114 flags resolved this symptom.

        Hi,

        Try to solve as follows:

        1. The tray 1 shift area sensor PCB is faulty.
        2. The wiring between the finisher controller PCB and tray 1 shift motor is faulty.
        3. The tray up/down mechanism is faulty.
        4. The tray 1 shift motor (M107) is faulty.
        5. The finisher controller PCB is faulty.

        Hope useful for you.

        Linda

Yeah, that is what the manual suggests.
