    IR 1730 drum squeak

I have been told that the drums in the 1730 series machines develop a squeak. Anyone know what can be done to resolve it. Here they replace them and I would prefer to solve it. Any ideas?

Remove the white clip at the back of the drum, move it out a little and put a drop of grease on the shaft. If that does not fix it put a dab of conductive grease on the pin where it contacts the copper drum ground. I move the drum back and grease the shaft first. I spent a lot of time trying to find that squeak more than a year ago even replacing drive assembly's. But almost every time it is in the drum area somewhere.

Thanks Dan. I thought someone has dealt with this issue. The techs said just replace the drum. I prefer to resolve the problem. Thanks again.

Confirmed, had the same issue. Oiling helped just a minute, but enought to pinpoint the problem..

I used MOLYKOTE G-8022=FY9-6026-000 hasn't come back yet...
