[Misc] IR Adv C3320 thick paper issue.

    hi,
i have IR Adv C3320 copy & print issue on thick papers(170gsm -256gsm).
the copy & printing on 80gsm copier paper is very good, but on Heavy 3 & Heavy 4 setting the quality degrade.
attaching herewith the original file and printed on 256gsm paper image.

    kindly advice.

    Thanking

256 Gs/m is the max weight this unit can handle (Bypass tray only), so if you're getting poor fusing like that I'd look at the fuser unit. Estimated life on those units is around 180K pages. If you are near or over that, it's time for a new fuser unit.

Age comes into play on these old models.

Are you making sure that the media type is set to heavy paper on the printer? Just asking because it looks like what happens when the settings do not match the paper.

when media set to heavy3 or heavy 4, this problem occur, otherwise copy& print on normal copier paper 80gsm is very good quality.

Just making sure you're using bypass tray?

Also, is it plain paper, glossy, etc?

If fuser isn't worn out, its paper settings issue.

Do full gradations on plain paper, then do full also for Heavy 3/4 with that media...Also now that I've looked at sample, it is a transfer issue. If paper is registered properly, etc,I would replace the external secondary roll on the door. Make sure its contacts are clean. Then itb would be next. Definitely a transfer issue

secondary transfer roller is clean, but how to ensure that during printing its contact are intact ?

. Clean the metal contact that touches the shaft near the end and apply conductive grease. Did you do all the proper gradations as I suggested? Could be a bad HVT.. hard to say. Definitely a transfer issue

I was looking at the media types on another device just for comparison. It shows that 256 gsm is considered Heavy 6. Do you have that option when running through the bypass? Heavy 4 only goes up to 180 gsm, for example.

i have Heavy 3 (160-220gsm) and Heavy 4 (220-256gsm) option showing in the control panel
                              when feeding through bypass.

there is not heavy 6 option.
