    Mf729cdw horizontal lines

I have a mf729cdw giving this type of prints. It is very intermittent so it makes it hard to trouble shoot. The lines seem to be the same width. Part of the image repeats in the lines. It happens on color and b/w prints. The problem shows up and then goes away sometimes for weeks before it reappears. Any ideas on where to start? I have attached a sample of a color print. I am fighting this problem on two different units currently.

In my opinion it is the transfer belt cleaning unit to be replaced but I believe it is included in the complete transfer belt unit. You checked the parts counter under maintenance (I changed it long before the maintenance call)

Thanks for the replies. Both machines I am fighting this problem on have less than 20k total printed pages on them. Are you thinking it is an intermitent electrical failure of the transfer belt? The sympton comes on goes. They may not call for 2 or 3 months and then the problem shows back up on a few prints and then will just go away. Belt unit, HV pwb, or DC controller?

I wouldn't think 2 machines at same place with same problem would be a pwb etc more likely faulty itb assy

            Hey!

I'm a bit late, but have you checked the life of the drums? Are they originals, or compats?

              I don't believe it.
