Canon imageCLASS MF6540 intermittant blank pages

Old Ricoh guy here with no experience on these looking at my customers home machine.
Running say 10 pages through the doc feeder maybe 4 or 5 come out blank. No misfeeds, just blank pages.
Even if I run just 2 pages, 1st is fine and 2nd is blank.
Tried running from glass and unable to duplicate problem.
Tried new OEM cartridge and also forcing laser shield held open.

Open to any ideas, thanks

Feed solenoid might be sticking causing it to feed multiple pages per scan, or try checking the drum contacts.

Thanks for the response. I had considered multi feeding but I ran many sets with only 2 originals and could see them coming out one at a time with the second page blank.
I will check the drum contacts when I go back.

when you are printing it is work, the problem is in the feeder, this is not uncommon in this model and ir 1024 series 90 per cent sure is the two feeder solenoids
