Canon iPF PRO 4000, maintnance cartridge doesn't initialize to 100% capacity

This machine needs to be transported down some stairs, so there is a bleeding process to be done, but it won't do the bleeding process because the maintenance cartridge shows 0% capacity ... on the old maintenance cartridge and on two new maintenance cartridges (even following the menu directions), and it still prints but it shouldn't (?).

So I think the first thing that needs to happen is the plotter needs to recognize the new MC. Could this be a board problem? Or is there a manual reset of some sort, as a temporary workaround? I didn't find anything useful in the manual.

    What do you think? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i had a similar problem on an Epson Stylus ... the firmware was 5 versions old ( not a customer.. just called in to do the pre-move )

installed latest FW and it picked up the maint carts...drained it... put in the blocks for the PH...

the moving crew then took over ( another "moving" co ) the dummies dropped it coming down the stairs... smashed the wall and took out the front door... but it didn't spill any ink! yeah the plotter was beyond repair.. so my boss made the moving co a deal on a slightly used demo from our copy shop but they still had to repair the house too.

It's currently at version 1.14, available version 2.19

Maybe this one will get dropped too. =^..^=
