Came across this exact problem a few months ago. For me the fix was adding pressure to the spring loaded CR unit belt on the right side(where the purge unit is located). That roller moves to far and the belt slackens causing the belt to jump teeths which causes that sound

this MAY be the issue; printhead is moving side to side and hits a rough spot on the shaft -

if you take a clean lint free cloth and clean the shaft the print head runs along; if you get a bunch of black gunk that usually is metal dust, old grease, etc

re-grease the shaft with proper grease and it should be quieter.

look into mileage and you may need to order replacement cleaning pads.

Working on a Canon TM-300. It has quite the banging sound when the print head gets to the left side. Not my video, but found one that is doing the exactly the same thing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
