    IR Advance 4525i fixing film

Have a customer with torn film. Only 60k meter. I see the film is sold separately to replace just the film. Would like to try this as new fixing units are $700+

Has anyone had good results with changing just the film? Is this similar to changing films on small Canon or HP printers?

    Thanks in advance

Yes the film can be changed on its own. Similar to the smaller canon units. Get a hold of the SM and it will guide you through. Good Luck.

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it, maybe, probably not we are at the pub!

Thanks for the replies. I have the manual and it shows how to remove the film assembly but not to change just the film. I've changed fixing film in many older / smaller canon models & HP printer and worked well. That is why I asked here to see if anyone had success with it.

Will give just the film a try. If not will replace the complete film assembly. Will let customer know this might not last but for how much money they are saving worth a try.

          Hello ,
yes this model the weak point on it the fuser film life is not high, you can use the for use quality but it will make around 30k max , same as ir2545 .
also as i read the series 4535 fuser life yields 120k as we read ,i dont know why they are making the parts life so weak its a business way iguess 😅
