Will give just the film a try. If not will replace the complete film assembly. Will let customer know this might not last but for how much money they are saving worth a try.

Let us know how you get along.

    Hello ,
yes this model the weak point on it the fuser film life is not high, you can use the for use quality but it will make around 30k max , same as ir2545 .
also as i read the series 4535 fuser life yields 120k as we read ,i dont know why they are making the parts life so weak its a business way iguess 😅

Has anyone had good results with changing just the film? Is this similar to changing films on small Canon or HP printers?

    Thanks in advance
Yes the film can be changed on its own. Similar to the smaller canon units. Get a hold of the SM and it will guide you through. Good Luck.
