    colorpass z400 problem. HELP!!! :)) :((((

    Hello ALL!

we a canon clc 1160 with colorpass z400e. Its connected to pc , colorpass and pc communicates, but when i want to print from pc nothing happens. It disappears from pc , i guess it is sent to colorpass because no error window appears, but it doesnt print anything.
Could you help me what should be and / or where should be done? In pc, driver or colorpass settings can cause the problem?

thanks in advance for your help

Is this a new install at this site, or has it been there a while? Has it worked in the past, but does not work now? What has changed since it did work? Your question is a little vague, and more info will help us help you...

looks like a false configuration of the tcp/ip port
make sure that you have configured your port to lpd, then name the printer queue to print

hi, this is a new install. it was , would be the first time to use the colorpass, till now we only used the clc 1160 as a copier, not as a printer.we connected the colorpass with ethernet cable to a notebook istalled the driver , gave the ip address, allowed windows printing and gave all the addresses the colorpass needed (gateway, ip....). So the communication exists between notebook and colorpass. Want to print a file (tried word, images...) it disappears from notebook (no error is written that not able to print). But nothings printed.
Sorry if not using proper words....
        thanks in advance

Can you log into the web interface of the printer by typing the ip adress you gave it into a web browser, and did you set the ip adress to manual rather than auto?

is the green LED on the 10/100BaseT connector lit. ??
*****perform Run Diagnostics from the Functions menu/ on the color pass/select Test I/F board
If the screen displays the message “Video diags failed,” then:
                • Power off the ColorPASS and open the system.
                • Re-seat the copier interface board.
                • Power on the ColorPASS and run the test again. If the test still fails, you may need to
                replace the copier interface board.

If the ColorPASS does not appear in the list of printers on the network, there may be another device on the network with the
                same Ethernet hardware address.

There may be conflicting network settings in Setup and on the customer’s workstation

Printing problems may be caused by inappropriate Setup options

specific printing errors may be caused by missing or incorrectly placed printer description files
or System software may be corrupted

If he is able to print the configuration page,, doesn't that rule out the interface board in the copier??

                          Hi,

I have already downloaded the Command Work Station ver. 4, but the program does not see the Fiery. (I tried to autm. search and manual config with fix IP number, but nothing)
Yes I printed the test page and config page from the Fiery controll panel. I could not see the network icon on Fiery.
Is the Z400 systme software on my PC or Fiery?

And I would like to write what I have already tried:
                          First:
I connected PC and Fiery direct with crossover cable. I saw the connection in "Local connection" on PC. (the packages are coming and going......)
                          PC Settings:
                          IP address: 192.168.0.15 (Fix)
                          Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
                          Gateway: 192. 168.0.16 (Fiery IP)

                          Fiery Settings:
                          IP address: 192.168.0.16 (Fix)
                          Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
                          Gateway: 192. 168.0.15 (PC IP)
                          Second:
I connected PC and Fiery throught router with normal patch cable. I saw the connection in "Local connection" on PC as well. (the packages are coming and going......)
                          PC Settings:
                          IP address: 192.168.0.15 (Fix)
                          Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
                          Gateway: 192. 168.0.1 (Router IP)

                          Fiery Settings:
                          IP address: 192.168.0.16 (Fix)
                          Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
                          Gateway: 192. 168.0.1 (Router IP)

The results were the same in both cases. Communications exists between the PC and Fiery. Nothing can be seen on Fiery and I can not print from. PC. If I click on print (on my PC) the document dissapears from print list, but nothing happens.

Your gateway settings are dead wrong.

If you do have a gateway, it should not be the IP address of the PC or Fiery.

At least temporarily, set the gateway of both to 0.0.0.0, or 127.0.0.1 of either rejects it.

Reboot both and see what happens.
