I'm an experienced Kyocera and Toshiba tech, but have inherited a Canon IR3300 at a small country church 50 miles away. On my first visit, it had a code of E602 and was obvious that it was the hard drive because of the noise it was making. Just touching it made the HDD go crazy. SO Hdd is the problem..My question is this...Can I use a comparable HDD and is there anything I need to download to it or will it be """plug and play"". ???

To clarify.........finding a compatible hard drive will be relatively easy. Heres a link to one resource for that part. Genuine Canon ImageRunner 3300 Drive Unit Part (H8777)
But since you are not a Canon tech getting the SST to load the system software and getting the firmware for that model may be difficult for you. Even if you get those items ----- learning to use the SST may be challenging and I think you will also need a crossover cable.
