Thanks Blackcat for your post. Can you please clarify what part is the "reader controller PWB" that you've bolded. Is that the cable, or another part? Thank you.

You know the connector that teckat has been illustrating? It connects directly to the reader controller circuit board. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Have u checked and inspected the interface cable on both ends

Teckat, thanks for your post. Have now confirmed that the cables are OK, checked continuity as suggested in the forum & even tried cables on another IR3300i thereby confirming that the problem is not a cable problem.

Can you suggest whether it likely requires the replacement of the circuit board located in the ADF that the interface cable plugs into?? The circuit board had its red LED flashing on booting up & seems to have power in it, but the before described error codes persist & the ADF will not function. Specifically, when paper is placed into the ADF, it does not turn on (green indicator ontop) nor do the ADF rollers move thereby recognizing the paper in the ADF.

Blackcat's suggested diagnostic states to replace the ADF controller PWB - which circuit board might that be, and then replacing the reader controller PWB.

          Thank you

Found an old Tech Pub on DADF

              DIFFERENT CODE BUT MAY HELP

              E733 when using the Feeder
Cut the four tie wraps on the wiring harness that goes from J11 on the Feeder Controller to the Stamp Solenoid SL2 and the Original Placement LED. See the pictures below for the location of the four tie wraps.

Bottom side of the feeder. Carefully peel back the front edge of the white plate on the bottom of the feeder.

On the rear side of the DADF by the feeder controller.

E743 : There is an error in the DDI communication

If the cables check fine as you noted.

There can be a fault in either, reader controller PCB, main controller PCB.

Is the connection between connector J1014 on the main controller PCB and the connector J409 on the reader controller PCB normal.

This way you can determine if any of these PCB's are the fault. Bottom line you got a reader and main unit communication error.,

Perform an R-CON clear,if that don't fix it replace the reader controller. I've seen once instance that just re-installing firmware fixed it

Canuck, guys - thanks for your posts. Am going by the nos. on trying to find the culprit.

Canuck, can you pls. describe how to do an R-Con clear. I've done the defragment in hopes it was a minor software glitch, but no luck.

                          Thanks.

Teckat, I performed the service mode check for the feeder & it is indicating "0" - absent. Is there a way that maybe I can activate manually to recognize the feeder?

                            Thank you.

0 = u can not manually turn it on/ should go to "1" when u plug in DADF Cable

this code is a READER communication

[3] Reader controller PCB; = controls the reader unit, controls the DADF communication

You could have a bad Reader Controller pcb.

turn off printer & disconnect DADF H1/ then turn on printer -will code appear ?/ if not can =can u make copies off glass with out error

The "0" is for the feeder. Should I do a service mode check for a reader?

I turned off the device, pulled out the pigtail cord (I understand called the interface cable) and restarted. Copier did not display any errors & initialized normally. Also, can copy from glass without any problem.

Should I still be looking at fixing the circuit board that the interface cable (pigtail side) is attached to?

                                Thank you!
