Sorry, I did not mean u had a displacement issue/ usually when u replace a Laser it is for some type of image distortion issue & not a Fade out on certain paper types

reason I quoted the stepping motor fix for Heavy Paper is because I had already experienced this at a few accounts

if poster will try the Manual Feed test posted above, it could point them in the right direction

teckat has given you the correct solution for that problem, I have replaced drum drive motors on 2 machines for this exact problem. OK on 80gsm paper no go on heavy. REPLACE motor.

Replacing the drum motor isn;t expensive or very much work, so worth the try i guess. Personaly i think that if the HVT is already replaced, the problem is caused by the developper. Replace the M developper motor or complete drum drive assy.

btw. Suggesting the laser isn't that odd, i had a laser fry my drums within 1 minute of "adjusting gradation please wait"

if M Laser was bad= all Magenta on all paper types would be effected -/ Laser issues are easy to determine in this model u just swap them- to see if issue follows

if M Developer Mtr was bad it would also effect Magenta on plain paper

poster has issue only on Heavy Paper or when Heavy is selected for Plain Paper/
All that points to the Drum Drive Mtr.

The idea of replacing a part where at a certain point, u can see trough the machine, is not very comfortable.

Is this thing fixed yet? Wow what a thread!! I would have cleared the ram and reloaded firmware to start. Everybody says change the drum drive. DO IT. Usually bad drum drive gives E-0012 though...

Ditto on the Drum drive assm. I had the same problem a few months ago and was told the same fix from these guys. I replaced it and all was good. Good advice.

                            E012-
0001 Drum ITB motor fails to run.
0002 Drum ITB motor runs but then stops running.
0003 When the drum ITB motor fails to stop

this is not what the poster is experiencing

Clear Ram or re-loading Firmware will not fix a stepping motor issue for Heavy Paper selection/
