[CLC4040/IRC4080H1] I feel so stupid today

Color misaligned, so i rushed in, removed ITB, cleaned drive roller. checked tr. rollers, those were fine. (okok, i didn;t have those in stock today). New ITB on, and back in machine.

MORE MISALIGNED THEN BEFORE.

So i used the other tricks, made a P-Print, dccon clear, reconfigered the adjust settings and restarted again. Same problem. Reset the lasers, still te same.

So removed the ITB assy again, removed the belt. Checked. I forgot to clean assy between the K tr. roller and drive roller. Dirt just moved on my just cleaned driver roller again.

So after some thorough cleaning, machine was Fine again...Never underestimate PROPER cleaning.

I hear ya. Replaced a scanner transport belt and things went from kicking the paper off the end of the m/c to shifting image. Secure area so cust has to babysit so the distraction didnt help. Cleaned the transport rollers down all was fine. Took an hour to avoid getting bit by that snake. <g>
