you have to match up the firmware on the C1 with what level you are at on the machine itself. If you load to high of a level on the C1 then it will not communicate with the machine properly. I would suggest putting the machine at the latest level and upgrading the C1 to 2.1.2. Latest for the machine is 90.03

imagePass C1 v2.0 ver. has a different motherboard than the C1 v1.x that is not interchangeable.
      imagePASS-C1 v1.x (S/N JFNxxxxx)
      imagePASS-C1 v2.0 (S/N JXLxxxxx):
      System Software
      (MN-CONT) 54.01 or later required

after grueling 3 hours of various trials and errors i heave concluded that hdd is failing but i was able to use norton ghost to create image of hdd.
problem now is that i can load image to other hdd but device doesn't start. I don't get errors on c1 but when i go on lcd to printer i get message to turn c1 and to wait. this stays on for indefinite time.
this method of cloning hdd worked on copy machines, but as it seams it doesn't work on c1 or i'm missing something.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

          imagePass C1's just don't stop working/
the C1 has three small Led's that flash/ & Power Led-that indicate the issue at hand
If all cables and connections look good and the problem still exists when the copier is
powered on, then proceed to the next phase of troubleshooting below

          Normal start-up sequence
When you power on or reboot the imagePASS-C1, the system runs the start-up routine.
The red DIAG LEDs 3-0 on the imagePASS-C1 connector panel blink through a start-up
sequence as the system checks the imagePASS-C1 board . The routine takes approximately 1 minute before the system reaches Idle. If the system hangs
during the start-up sequence, check and note the sequence displayed by the four DIAG
LEDs, then check the table for the possible problems and suggested actions.
The green power (PWR) LED will be on solid at power up and remains on to indicate
that the imagePASS-C1 board is receiving power.

If you make a ghost of a failing drive, the data will more than likely be corrupt. The ghosting process needs to occur on a healthy drive, not one that has failed.

@teckat when c1 failed i had led 1 and 2 on. after hdd started working system would boot and operated just fine for couple of hours.

knowing that hdd is failing i went to friend and used his c1 to make ghost copy of hdd. i could not get his copy of hdd to work on his machine (my hdd had ghost copy of his hdd). As it seams I'm missing certain step in this process but I can not see what I'm missing.

yesterday i finally got fw for fiery. all of it but it is v2. today i will be at customers office and i will try to flash fw on new hdd.
@teckat i heave copied friends hdd and tried to boot with copy machine but it would not start. so ghosting of fiery hdd is not and option.

I ask about the serial numbers because if you have
imagePass C1 v2.0 ver. has a different motherboard than the C1 v1.x that is not interchangeable.
