Copy control interface cable for c3220

I've already got the cable (#7096A012AA) with instructions to install on the customers c3220 (print shop adding credit card machine for walk-up copier). The 3rd party mfg is now telling me I need a differant cable with a 9 pin connector - possibly the "copy control interface kit A1" in order to have differant charges for color and b/w. That kit looks like it is only made for the IR advance series though.

Is there another cable that will work with the c3220 and has the ability to have differant pulses/charges for color and b/w?

are u also going to use a Card Counter ??

u plug in the devise to the cable then to the J1317 connector/ & follow instructions below

When installing an External Control Counter Device the machine has to be setup accordingly.

    1.Go into Service Mode *28*
    2.*2 for Level 2 Mode
    3. Copier / Option / Acc / CC/SPSW Set to "2"

The wire harness connects to the Sub-Main Controller PCB at connector J1317.

I will be installing an external third party vendors contol box that is connected to a credit card machine. I have already set this up on the customers ir-7200 b/w machine with no problems. They also want it set up on their c3220.

The issue is the internal cable needed for the c3220. I have the one cable that I listed above but the third party vendor says it should have a 9 pin connector - which it doesn't. I think the vendor is getting this machine mixed up with the IR advance machines which use the copy control interface kit A-1.

Is there another copy control interface cable available for the c3220? Thx.

yes the advance series uses a 9-pin serial type connector where the old IR and IRC series do not. I would contact them again to make sure they have the correct model.

is he talking about a serial DB9 (9pin) female on one side and DB9 male on the other/ only seen this used for the PDL Downloader
