    6235 - E065

I spend most of my time over in the Ricoh forums, but I was working on a Cannon 6235 yesterday and found that after a number of copies (not sure about the number, I was only able to cause the code once) the machine would throw up a E065 code.

I have a manual on my laptop for the 6035 (have work on several of these) and even though they look very similar, there's nothing in the manual about this code. It goes from E064 to E202. While there, I cleaned the machine and emptied the waste toner in the drum cartridge, but the one thing I did not check was the web. This was mentioned to me later and it was one of those slap yourself in the forehead kind of moments. Reason I say that is because I remember replacing a web in a 6055 (I think that's right) at a school about a year ago and I want to say I had the same code because the web had run out.

Anyway, if anyone could shed some light on this situation, it would be greatly appreciated.

    {EDIT} Guys, I'm so sorry! I thought I placed this in the Copier forums. Well, that's what I get for thinking...{/EDIT}

The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.

    try this

sounds like leakage of the power supplied to transfer and fixing bias. First check the upper fixing roller to be sure the bushings are on correctly and that the bias at the ufr is making good contact with both pads on the bias plate. replace the transfer roller, make sure the transfer roller-transport bed is lifting all the way up when engaged. Is the lcd filckering with error codes 64 and 65 if so its the ufr bias. by the way an out of web is error 0005

Thanks a ton! I remember the copy that stopped in the machine and did notice that the lead edge of the image, what was applied anyway, was very light for about an inch or so then started to darken back up.

I will go out tomorrow and clean the transfer assy and let the customer know that I will order a transfer roller. I can't comment on weather the screen flickered or not. The code appeared while I was putting some cleaning supplies back in my case, so... I will pay better attention tomorrow.

Thanks again!!! Oh, and as far as the code... I was only 60 off. With a little practice, I might just get good at this darn job!

Get your soldering iron out and redo the solder joints on the composite power supply if e065...noted for cracked solder joints around transformer and regulators..clean fuzz and dust bunnies..i've seen them cause leakage on the board

            Lots of choices here:
            1) Transfer Assy from 6030 installed in a 6035
            2) Composite Power Supply
            3) Fuser bias contact
            4) When duplexing: Primary Charge roller failure (short)
            5) When duplexing: Duplex Tires worn! (I can hardly believe it myself, but, if the paper is delayed on the second side of duplex, the composite power supply is ON during the delay arriving at the registration roller. I've seen it myself.)
            6) Shorting transfer roller (remove the transfer assembly to diagnose. The code will go away)
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
