Troubleshooting Jam Code 17A1 on machines equipped with an Inner Booklet Trimmer-A1.
When printing booklets on machines equipped with a Saddle Finisher-AG2/Booklet Finisher-D1 with optional Inner Booklet Trimmer-A1, it is possible for Jam 17A1 to occur. When this happens, jammed papers are not found in the Saddle Finisher-AG2/Booklet Finisher-D1, but in the feeding assembly in the main unit.
When the jam description is checked on the copier UI display, JAM TYPE: STNRY, Sensor No:S226 is shown. If the JAM is removed at this point, the machine will recover normally; however, if the jam is not removed from the copier body, the following phenomenon will occur:
After the machine indicates the 17A1 Jam, it appears to continue printing the current job; however, no paper is transported within the device and no paper is output. The main drive operates for approximately 3 minutes before indicating Jam Code 0CA0.
The jam description says JAM TYPE: SEQ NG, Sensor No: SEQNG .“SEQ NG” means that when a control mechanism error occurs, the error continues even though the machine tries to operate; therefore, it forcibly indicates JAM to stop.
This phenomenon will not occur unless equipped with the Inner Booklet Trimmer-A1.
When this condition occurs,it is recommended to replace Photo Sensor Unit S203 of the Finisher Saddle Tray Assembly of the Saddle Finisher-AG2/Booklet Finisher-D1
