WHY
UPD files are standard ASCII plain text files that can be opened or edited using any standard text editor and are used by several software applications for storing specific information or data that is relevant to the application program and is of solely its own use. An example of such information could be the information about the last update that was made by the program. These files are generally included within the software applications by the vendors themselves or are created by the installation softwares during the time of the installation of the software application. These files are very similar to README files that are often seen and distributed along with software applications to provide very general and basic instructions to the user regarding how to go about the general process of installation and the running of the program or using its various functionality to introduce the user to the application. dBASE which is a database management system uses these files as its update file which indicates the time, duration and the files that were update during the last update and is used by it for comparison with online data to determine if the software has a new update available or not.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
