hi guys good day. cassette 3 doesn't detect any paper size i replace the sensor for paper width detection and also the length and still no good so i swap the tray the pick up assembly still cant detect the paper size and on the tray 4 this tray can detect all paper size but the problem on this tray the cassette lifter motor doesn't move up slowly when copying or printing multiple pages. you have to turn it off so that the lifter motor move. what i did on tray 4 i replace the lifter motor the pick up assy.motor drive board but no luck still the problem remain. i dont know what to do next guys i check the harness and they are all fine. pleased help me guys thanks.

Re: canon ir 5065 cassette 3 and 4 problem
When the cassette is pushed into the machine, the cassette open/closed sensor goes on and, at the same time, the pickup roller starts to move down. At this time, the light-blocking plate leaves the lifter sensor, causing the cassette lifter motor to go on and the lifter to move up. When the lifter moves up and the lifter sensor detects the surface of paper, its ascent stops.
When the open button of the cassette is pressed, the drive gear of the lifter becomes disengaged, letting the lifter to move down under its own weight.

Re: canon ir 5065 cassette 3 and 4 problem
thanks sir teckat i will try to check the lifter motor and the solenoid. my big problem this is the only 5065 we had and i dont know where to try the dc controler of the machine. we have ir 5050 and ir 6010 and ir5020 in field but this ir5065 is just only one.there is no glory without sacrificeComment

good day guys i made work on cassete 3 i go to service mode then under adjust then cst you have to enter the value on the door specs on cassette 3 and 4 the stmtr and a4r. but on cassette 4 still doents work you to turn off and on the machine in order the lifter motor to work but 1t a few copies the lifter drops resulting to paper jam.there is no glory without sacrificeComment

You can take out both decks and cassette 3 to allow you have a look on what's going on during copying with cassette 4. If the lifter drops down, this should stop the machine and it will ask to load paper. In your case, the machine shows a paper jam meaning that the paper is at its wright hight (otherwise it won't be detected). have a look on the pick up solenoid.

Hello Smiley,
The cassette lever should give enough pressure to allow the sensor levers and pick-up support to drop to its optimum position. Replace the cassette and try to be simple in your approach.
Read the attachment and good luck.
Rachid.
