Re: Canon IR 6020i with F1 finisher E584 code with all the riders 1, 2 & 3
teckat and vigour,
Thank you much. I've taken this type of finisher apart a couple of time,
but I can't remember how long ago that was. I shoulda guessed there
would be a one way gear/bearing in the mix.
I can get to the gear packs and check them.
Thanks

TO ADD ON..Erratic Tray operation
CHECK the Compression Spring on MSW3,/ located on the rear frame side of the Finisher-
It can become dislodged. This will prevented the switch from being actuated by the Tray Frame Assembly. May need a new Compression spring on MSW3 .
If the spring is installed correctly and is intact, verify the operation of the switch.

Easy fix .... There is a one way gear which goes bad.I think it can be reached from the front side with a bit of fiddling.Have not done one in years so my memory is cloudy.Harder Fix..... New swing guide.Leave a comment:

Canon IR 6020i with F1 finisher E584 code with all the riders 1, 2 & 3
I noticed the swing assembly doing this double close when doing sets. Not all the time tho.
When the swing assembly goes down to eject the set it would go down then up then down and eject the set.
I also noticed a lot of E584 codes with the riders 1, 2, & 3.
What is this unit trying to tell me? I reseated the connectors on the fin control bd, no help.
Every so often it will bend a page. The other day I found that one of the knurled belts
was bound up and causing a jam. I removed the swing and corrected this condition.
But I noticed the double bounce before this had happened.
The code points to the shutter. Can someone shed some light on this for me?
These finishers seem to work fairly well so my time on these is low.
Thanks
