    [CQ] Ir5065

I have an image runner 5065 that is creasing the paper. I haven't been there yet but customer say is it only does it when doing 2 sided copies. I first assumed lower bearings but has anyone seen wrinkling only doing 2 sided? I am still leaning toward lower bearings. There is an image inside the wrinkles so this tells me that paper is straight passing under the drum. She says the copies are not skewed either. Just looking for input as i cant be there until monday....thanks all!

        When on site,observe the following:
-check on the heater roller bushings,
-check on the lower roller bearings and the lower roller itself,
-check on the corona wires on the transer corona assembly in case they are old replace.
        Good luck!

Also, check the entrance guide to the fuser. Toner build up can cause the paper to skew before entering the fuser and crease the paper

Check the small bearings on the ends of the Steel Roller located in the Duplex Feeder Unit, check also for flat areas on the Sponge Roller.

Yes, it sounds like its time for a fuser rebuild.

Well, she was correct. It only creases when doing 2 sided. pulled the LFR and the front bearing is shot and the LFR shaft is worn very thin. Have one on the way. Don't know why it only does it on 2 sided, but, oh well, used to want to figure out "why". Now I just repair and move on, lol.

Yeah but when that happens make sure your UFR is in good shape or prepare for it to fail soon. I cant believe the UFR gear dint crack or bend the UFR with all that low roll press. Best to do it all when this happens.
